At today's EA press event, EA gave the press its first look at the company's new fantasy football service, titled EA Sports Fantasy Football, which is set to debut on July 21. Fantasy football is a fairly straightforward thing, but EA Sports is looking to make its brand of fantasy football as personalized to your specific needs and interests as possible. Features in the EA Sports Fantasy Football service include:

  • Real-time coverage of stats, standings and injury reports, as brought to you by the famed statistical analysis company, Stats Inc.
  • Exclusive content, including player and league news, cheat sheets, editorials, weekly predictions, draft content and analysis and player rankings based upon your chosen league rule set.
  • League message boards.
While much of this is likely old hat to anyone who has ever partaken in fantasy football before, a bit more incentive to use EA Sports' service comes in the form of special prizes. Commissioners will be able to award prizes like $20 off of an EA game and a special EA Sports bobblehead trophy. Certain players will also have the opportunity to win autographed footballs, as well as a trip to Hawaii for the NFL Pro Bowl. You can find more information about EA Sports Fantasy Football at its official Web site.
