Easy worlds and way easier bosses and all the while still fun.

User Rating: 8.5 | New Super Mario Bros. Wii WII
Don't scream at me but I started playing this game with the Wii remote upright with the nunchuck. Didn't like that control scheme so I changed it to the side (but forgot to remove the nunchuck). Needless to say that for a while I had a tough time that way because it's not supposed to be played like that and pressing left will have you going nowhere while up and down will have you do the movement. It wasn't until I played it sideways without the nunchuck that I really started to like this game. *face palm* Anyway, I got it with my red Wii this Christmas along with Wii sports and now I am deciding I won't sell it. Why? Because it's a fun title.

So far, with the exception of maybe 2 levels, it was a breeze getting to world 3 once I got the controls to where they should be. The power ups are some of the best that Mario has had (I haven't finished Galaxy nor played Galaxy 2), the graphics are pretty nice, the sound is pretty good (especially the third world) and this game is all-around fun. More fun than the DS version which was fun in itself.

The worlds themselves don't present too much challenge so far though and the bosses are pretty much a joke like in the DS version. I miss those days of the more fun, creative boss battles like in Super Mario Bros. 3 or Super Mario World. Hell, even Super Mario 64 had funner bosses. But they are OK here. Just too easy.

I find that this game is fun enough to finish at least one play through though and I've changed my mind about wanting to sell it. Besides, I have yet to play the fun multiplayer so I'm sticking to this game.

+Colorful
+Easy controls without nunchuck
+Pleasant graphics
+Decent soundtrack which is improved over the DS version's minimalist music
+Fun
+Up to 4-player game option
+You can be a Toad if you play 3rd or 4th player!
+Presents a decent challenge if you want to collect every star coin and unlock everything
+Koopa Kids make their return!
+Doomships are back!
+Penguin suit is introduced FTW! The best Mario power up that I have ever used!

-Too easy
-Boss battles are a cakewalk
-Princess Toadstool is in trouble; again

All in all, this game is a keeper. It takes the DS version and improves on it with more cool power ups, better graphics of course and way better sound while keeping the controls the same if you don't use the nunchuck.

I beat the main game on December 31st, 2010.
