New Super Mario Bros. on the DS was a fun little romp. But one thing that kept it back from being in the 9.0+ category was that the challenge was pretty easy. Nintendo went back to the drawing boards when they crafted this instant classic. This is simply the best 2D Mario since Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's island! Fans of the legendary favorite 18 million selling Super Mario Bros. 3 and 16 Bit Super Mario World will find much to love here. As you play you will say, "Mario still has it in 2D" . And when you jump to that death defying tough Star Coin and land perfectly, you will say: "Nintendo still has that special touch". The game play and controls are as top notch as always, with the graphics looking like you wished they would have on the DS. Everything is smooth, clean and colorful. The soundtrack remixes many old favorite Mario tunes to great results. The high challenge for going for all the Star Coins is one you will remember! Play this one for our hero Mario. The little plumber just did it again!
FUN is really what this game brings. New Super Mario Bros. Wii has to be classified as an instant classic when you're having this much fun. Go grab a copy of that sweet red box for your collection!
