Stays true to the original NWN game mechanics, with a new array of prestige classes!

User Rating: 8.5 | Neverwinter Nights 2 PC
As in the first game, one of the best things about Neverwinter Nights 2 is the leveling system and prestige classes, and a chance to try out the Weapon Master! Quests are abundant and frequently overlapping, making it hard to put down, thus making leveling up fast and fun for the first 10 or so levels. After which, it gets a little tedious, as the low xp from most combat encounters makes it hard to keep up.

Also, finally no xp penalty on having companions! Baldur's Gate's fans will love this. Pros are that there are near 10 companions to customize your fave team but the cons are that some have to stick by you along the main storyline, which is expensive to upkeep in terms of the gear, as Neverwinter Nights 2 is very gold-intensive, no thanks to a Keep minigame (BG2 fans may find this familiar). But even so, with a little exploring, there are lots of interesting and rewarding loot to collect and sell, including Dragon treasures.

Some of the soundtracks are great, especially the Neverwinter areas, which further immerses you into its world with the sweeping score. Most sound effects are recycled from the first game if my ears are not wrong, but are still great anyway. All in all, it's still an RPG collector's item, even if not a masterpiece.
