NES Play Action Football was one of the earlier sporting games released. Due to Tecmo Bowl getting all the raves, this hidden gem has become overshadowed and buried.

Based on today's standards though, it's hard to give the game a good graphics / sound score. But during its time, a blip and a beep was considered top-notch. And the best part of the game was playing as your favorite players. Being from the Bay Area, I loved playing as the stars of the Niners. Montana to Rice hookup all day, every day!

This was the game that started it all. Hopefully, NES Play Action Football gets the attention it deserves in the chronicles of gaming history.
