Ever since i got NFS Hot Pursuit 2 a few years back, i wondered what the first hot pursuit was like. This game was actually pretty decent for its time: racing supercars such as the Lamborghini Countach and evading police. You can go through single races, tournaments, free runs (where you have a guide explaining how to approach certain turns), etc. Hot Pursuit also sunds great, from the roaring engines on the cars, the cop dialogue, and even the music (your choice of rock or techno). The frame rate is also pretty solid for the most part. The cars look great and track environments are also decent-looking. The controls may need a little time to get used to, but for the most part, the cars handle pretty well. The AI can be a bit of a nuisance at times (some problems with rubber-banding, but not to the point of the races being downright frustrating) but you get three difficulties(beginner, intermediate, expert) to suit your needs. Overall, NFS Hot Pursuit is a groundbreaking sequel to one of the most popular racing franchises ever!
