The remake is a refined and a much greater version compared to the original.

Need For Speed. A well known racing series. One of the best NFS's in my opinion has to be Hot Pursuit. I originally played the original on the Ps2. I loved it. The graphics were smooth, the gameplay was fun, along with the rest of the game, which was spot-on. Then Criterion (my favorite company for racing games) decided to make a remake of this game and I was impressed.

The first thing you are blown away by is the stunning graphics. The cars look excellent, very realistic and just look perfect. The game's overall enviroment you're playing in also looks amazing. You may not notice it at first glance or top speeds, but once you stop you're car from moving, the enviroment you're playing in looks very realistic and just plain beautiful. The overall graphics for crashing looks great too. I think Criterion did a great job in making the graphics look insanely good.

The game is very fun. Something I did miss in this game is splitscreen, however online play makes up for it. The general single-player "campaign" is lengthy. You play as both sides. Cops, who try to take down the racers, and Racers, who not only take down cops, they have to take down racers and win the race. Each side has different power-ups to help you do well. The game has many cars to choose from and the tracks are well thought out. The AI in this game is generally good and very resistant. The online is also very fun, and can be quite addicting and challenging. The games are usually 4v4, and can be very chaotic. Overall, I think this game is fun and very addicting.

The game's audio however, I think it is the worst part about this game. The sound effects and other audio features are great. Except for racing games, I think the game needs a good soundtrack, which it lacks. The music in this game just isn't to good and I only like one or two songs out of many.

The controls are great. The steering is easy to do, and the drifting is also very tight. Just like most racing games, there isn't much left to say about the controls.

Finally, the game has a good amount of content. The single-player is long and the online is good enough to keep you playing. If you like racing game involving cops and robbers, you'll be playing this game for a very long time. However, there are more addicting games than this one.
