After buying last years game and feeling it was around a John Calipari level of quality, this years version vaults to the Rick Majerus, fat man eating cake level. Its that good! The gameplay mirrors NBA Live 2004 nearly to a tee, so if you have played this years Live, you know exactly what to expect. No longer does college hoops get the cold shoulder from EA and its developers. Slapping the floor on D, raising the roof on O and all around College atmospheres are all here, including all the teams arenas! Its truly remarkable how much of an improvement March Madness 2004 is over 2003, which seemed like an afterthought to NBA Live 2003. Not to say that there aren't any problems, the Mountain West Conference, an up and coming conference with teams such as Utah, BYU, UNLV, San Diego ST and Wyoming, all NCAA tournament quality teams the past 3-5 years, is screwed up! How could EA possibly have placed Charleston Southern in the MWC! How does this get through game testing. Another glaring problem is the fact that EA made editing the players something of a chore, as you edit one player at a time and then have to proceed to scroll through the 300+ teams to find that team again, edit another player and have to repeat the entire process. Luckily, we have sites like www.geekrosters.com that will do the work for us! If you are a hoops connieseaur or just a basketball fan in general, go out and buy MM2004.
