It's An Okay Game Once You See Past The Flaws

User Rating: 7 | NCAA March Madness 07 X360
This is the second basketball sim i played (the first being the ever-awful NCAA Final Four 2001) and this is actually a decent basketball sim, but there are some flaws that hold it back. For instance, the ball physics are rather goofy at times, such as when you try to make a three-pointer and miss, it will sometimes land beneath the basket rather than bouncing out. Also, the camera is zoomed out a little too far and there's not many camera angles, but not so far to the point where you would need a microscope to see the players (thankfully you have a handfull of different camera views to choose from). The biggest flaw I noticed was that there's too many fouls in the game. It seems like every time you attempt to block or steal the ball from an opposing player, you'll have a lot of defensive fouls called against your team and you can press the back button to call an intentional foul while you're on defense, but when used at the wrong timing, the opposing player will have to throw some free throws. There's also not very many gameplay options to choose from, so you'll see every mode the game has to offer in a small period of time. The good points I have about this game are that the college basketball atmosphere is captured very vividly from stadium to stadium, the commentary is good, dribbling is a breeze, especially when using the Y button to super dribble, and the controls are fluent. Overall, NCAA March Madness 07 has its share of flaws, but not enough to where the game is rendered unplayable, and it's still a basketball sim through and through.
