Nice try, but this game ain't no Cinderella story. Take a year off EA and come back in 2012 with a whole new formula!
Gameplay: 6.5/10
I didn't feel like I was on the court this year with this lack luster game. The players were not that life like and the AI was out of this world (bad). EA has to trash whatever they got and try again. Just to put things into perspective, they did so bad on this game, they're taking this year off. This was basically a college version of their major league game, NBA Live 10.
Online: 7.0/10
Not bad actually. Minimal lag if any. The thing that brings down the score is that this game got so little advertisement that no one owns it and it is difficult to find someone to play with. Otherwise it is decent.
Game Modes: 4.0/10
I was deciding whether or not to put an "s" on the end of Game "Modes". That's the problem, there are basically two. Tournament, self-explanatory, and Dynasty which is decent but you need more to choose from. Add a Career mode or something where you can play like your Senior year of high-school and depending on how well you do it effects who recruits you.
Sound/Presentation: 9.0/10
Actually one of the major upsides to the game. The new 25 Toughest Places to Play feature is really cool. If you are playing in a major complex for a juggernaut team, the crowd is more pumped and actually makes the screen and controller shake. The new CBS and ESPN presentations are also phenomenal. The add a new level of realism and the ESPN broadcasters are top-notch (CBS's are average). Without this aspect I would have given the game a 5.5 or maybe even a 5.0.
Final Rating: 6.0
Just not a complete game. I have never seen a game with so much potential be so average. There are major highs (presentation) and major lows (mode variety and gameplay).
So, my final opinion is average to below average, 6.0!!! Rent or don't bother. On second thought, don't bother. A complete waste of my $45. Thank god I got it on eBay for $15 cheaper.
