...A definite change in the NBA Street series....for the better...

I have always been a fan of NBA Street and other street basketball games. When i heard that there was going to be a third NBA street I thought that it was going to be the same as the second one. The first and the second NBA street was not very different. Both had about the same tricks, the same way to pull them off. The only real difference was the ability to pocket a gamebreaker and pull off a stunning level 2 gamebreaker. Once i purchased this game I was stunned at how different of a game it was. There are so many tricks you can pull off and unlike the second and the first NBA Street, in this version you use the trick stick and it makes it so much easier to make your opponent look like a fool. The Gamebreakers have also changed. In NBA Street V3 there is only 1 gamebreaker but you can actually control what kind of dunk he does in the air and you can also toss it up 2 more times to your other teamates in the air. Another new mode is the Slam Dunk Contest. Now for all the people that have played NBA Live 2005, you might not like this one as much just because u bend the limits on what you can do. In this game, as you make a character and earn him respect, you have the ability to be drafted onto an NBA team. Once on a team, you play real games against other teams and eventually have a shot at the championship. The Be a Legend mode in this game makes this very different from the other NBA street games. You can also play this game online, however i was sort of disappointed at the online mode. I was under the impression that you could take a team you have worked on and use it online. Once you sign online you have to make a whole new person and work him up from scratch. I was a little frustrated with this because I had made a custom team which resembled the And 1 Street team. Even thought I was disappointed, I do see where they were coming from. I realize It wouldnt be much fun if you could do that. If you like basketball you must buy this game.
