Extremely unrealistic but okay in terms of core gameplay

User Rating: 7.2 | NBA Live 2005 XBOX
NBA live 2005 has gotta be one the most unrealistic basketball games ever made. i didn't notice at first but i found out that i can put Yao Ming as my point guard and inbound the ball to him, constantly do spin moves til i reach the other end and end up with a dunk or freethrows....it works about 80% of the time players seems to miss alot of open shots and there seems to be WAY TOO many steals during inbound passes. It just ruins the atmosphere. in terms of presentations. it's mostly well-done the graphics are solid while far being visual concept's offering the sound is good but commentary can get pretty annoying. the controls are very good. what really saves this game is the all-star weekend. it's just pure fun at its best the dunk contest is one of the most innovative modes i've seen in a sports game and there is so much variety. so that is that but there are other problems that plague this game. first, is the choppy onine play..even while playing against opponents who had max connections i experienced noticable lag during gameplay and it seriously bothers the free throw shooting. (i run on a 3megabit connection so that is not my connection, every other game i play runs smooth) another huge flaw is the player ratings...they are WAY OFF i mean seriously off memphis is the highest rated team on the whole game...yes they are rated higher than the lakers, t-wolves, spurs, rockets, pistons did i mention the wizards are rated 85!! (they didnt even make the playoffs) so overall if your looking for an arcade baller live 2005 is an okay choice but i'd say go with the lower-priced ESPN NBA 2k5...you won't regret it
