The last basketball game I had was NBA 2K3 and thanks to the EA 2 for 1 I got NBA Live. I was glad to see the 3-point contest back (NBA Live 2000) and the newest feature the Slam Dunk Contest. The dynasty mode seems to be pretty in-depth with the recruiting and the dynasty points to buy rewards. I have yet to reach the off-season but look forward to it. The slam-dunk contest was really hard at first but once you get the timing down it is a whole lot of fun. The three point contest doesn't dissapoint either. During the gameplay I am annoyed about how the players don't follow the ballhandler in behind either for an ally or a rebound. Other than that and some other animations that can't be controlled the gameplay is good. The new dunk animations are nice. I also like how all the players don't shoot the same way, which is true in real life. Overall this game is a good one, i'm not able to compare it to NBA 2K5.
