Over all, the game is superb. Check it out, especially if your a basketball fan.

Boy, EA has done a nice job on this one. All-Star Weekend, Mid-Air Decision making, and beautiful character models all contribute to the games level of gameplay. The graphics are great. The lighting in the stadiums and on the characters during cut scenes and during most gameplay, is really nicely done. Dynasty mode is a godsend, especially with the PDA and the Dynasty Extras. Now the PDA can get pretty annoying at times but hey, if your star player gets hurt, your not going to want to miss his injury report so it's also very helpful. The weekly power rankings you recieve could be monthly, as your team constantly moves ahead only 1 or 2 spots after you win a few games. The slam dunk contest and three point shootout are two very welcome additions. While the Slam Dunk contest is pretty hard to master, it is very much worth it as some of the dunk combinations you can come up with are crazy, like the Back-Handspring between the legs twice alley-oop. Maybe they aren't realistic but they sure are cool to watch :-D The shootout is also awesome, especially for Peja Stojakovic fans like me (;-p). If you are looking for a fun time with friends, a hardcore basketball semi-sim, or just an every once in a while 1 on 1 game, NBA Live 2005 is perfect.
