Only a person who hasn't played REAL basketball will dislike this game. 2K6 RULES!!!!
How do I start? The graphics are way better than in Live 06. Movements are realistic; player collisions, dunks, defense and my personal favorite --- post up moves look great!!!!!!
The controls are a bit unconventional, but the shot stick really gives you more feel and timing specially on jump shots. The strip and rip system is totally wonderful. I like the fact that it gives you the ability to swipe the ball even from driving or rebounding opponents, which is really the case in real life ball.
What I dont quite dig though is the free throw system. It doesnt quite give you much information on where to adjust your shot or how to gauge whether you are doing the right thing during free throws. Which tends to make your players inconsistent in converting from the foul line.
And how could I forget the AI. This is what really defines 2K6, the teams in the game really resemble their real life counterparts. RIP Hamilton will really get his screens and Amare does roll of his pick for Nash. Something that Live 06 wished they had.
My advice, pick 2K6 if your one of the men who really know your basketball. If your a kid who just wants to throw a ball at a basket, then Live 06 is for you.
