Let's admit it. NBA has evolved significantly over the last 3 years. But has it changed enough to keep us immersed into the game play, gripping our controllers in tension, and screaming in pure joy when Jordan dunks? Let's find out.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The game itself I found was pretty straightforward. Make a character : customize his skin tone, his fitness, and overall features then start playing. Sounds easy right? Yes and no.------------------------------------------------------------------Interface and Menus : I, having not played NBA2K12, was new to the whole thing. How can I go straight to a game? How do I play with another player? I was confused, but then figured everything out.-----------------------------------------------Game play and Mechanics : The game itself is amazing! Learning curve is kind of steep though, but you'll get there. It felt really smooth sprinting across the court during a counter-attack, and dunking the ball with the dunk meter going well above 70. It was amusing. A few glitches here and there, but nothing unforgettable. Mechanics, however, were what you would expect from an NBA 2K game. Smooth mechanics, but I won't get into that a lot. All I have to say is that the overall look and feel of the game were great. A few tweaks could be applied to the actual animations of player interactions, like a glitch where a player would hold air instead of the basket ball which is floating basketball a foot away from him. No biggie, one timer only. Again, negligible. But what's not, is the constant ads for companies like Gatorade. It becomes a standard, and you just stop noticing it. Once again, negligible.-----------------------Graphics and Detailed Rendering : Fast graphics. Super fast. (That sounded like an apple motto) No problems at all with the actual player rendering. I was disappointed by the coach/managers' faces. You would notice that they were highly detailed, but after a couple looks, you'll start laughing at their facial expressions. Speaking about laughing, I laughed a couple times about the rare failure of the animations. A player's hand going through his teammates' spine. One timer though, so its O.K.----------------------------------------------------------------------Overall : I think the game is great. Just behave when you get owned by your friends, and don't press their buttons when you're owning them.
