I don't even like basketball, but skill-based, single-player RPG experience? There aren't many better than this.

As mentioned above, I don't even like basketball. I find it to be rather boring, and most of the players and personalities are sort of corny and pathetic to me. But that is besides the point, because I love RPG's! And I LOVE Skill-based RPG's. Combining the two is a mode called My Player in NBA 2K12. This is my first basketball game for a LONG time and I found the game to be absolutely brilliant and full of depth. I have spent over 100 hours now in the 'My Player' mode and still have not lost the desire to continue building my 7'2" center.

It is the only mode I care about and play, and have enjoyed every moment of even the most mundane match-ups. I prefer to play every game for the experience of knowing and building my guy just the way I want it, and to have ownership over the in-game statistics that are produced, but, if you prefer, you can skip all but the key games. These games net you double experience for the effort.

The graphics, presentation and gameplay are all excellent.

My only issue is that there are some glitches and bugs, and 2K Sports doesn't seem very swift in addressing issues.

Go check it out if you like basketball or RPG's if you enjoy a long-lasting, in-depth, skill based experience.
