First off, I owned this last year and loved it. I can't believe I'm saying this about a basketball game, but this series is currently the best in the sports genre. The controls have a difficult learning curve, but once you master them, they are responsive and awesome. The graphics are top-notch and the presentation is the best I've ever heard or seen in a sports game. The announcers are on-point and give some cool NBA insight. I do agree it can be a lil annoying doing the Jordan challenges considering you have to ball-hog, but they are still fun. Season or Association mode is immersive and once you get out of the horrible developmental league in My Player, that's a blast as well. Now I realize there is NBA 2k12 out now. I actually rented it to see if it was as good as 2k11 and it is. The controls are easier, post-moves are sweet and throwback challenges are awesome. But, after playing for a lil while I realized the difference between the 2 years wasn't worth the extra 45$. There's no rookies because of the lockout and you can download uptodate rosters. So if you have the money, go with 2k12, but you won't be missing much if you save your money on 2k11
