Feeling frosty about Combine

User Rating: 8 | NBA 2K10: Draft Combine X360
I love the 2K series of NBA games. I started with the Dreamcast when the hometown favorite Allen Iverson was the cover athlete ( and Randy Moss covered the football version ). Since then 2K has been kicking Live's butt every year earning the badge on every cover as basketball's best game. This Combine however had a chance to change the game. Instead of just being a early peek of the create a player mode of the new game, this was a chance for them to deliver a playable game that would grab the attention of the EA faithful and show them what they have been missing. EA has just started to notice that gimmicks don't go over well with it's core basketball fans and they it's kids who like the fast game and that sliders or just some easy setting would do that and that they should concentrate on the realism. So much so that they hired a former 2K game producer to help remedy this. Back to 2k10 they had such a great outing w/ last year's online feature that this would seem to be the obvious choice to start with as far as keeping players on this demo/ $5 game until the Oct 6 season starts. 5 on 5 online battles could have been amazing and would show that this would be something that you could get the new game for if you are not a hardcore NBAer wanting to complete a dynasty w/ drafts and trading and the whole bit. As it is you get about a good hour for you 400 ms points w/ only 6 drills and 6 games to show for it over the free demo available. Not much as far as $5 DLC is concerned. At least you get to see how awesome the new NBA2K10 is going play and that's cool!
