The game itself is something you have to get used to because it's style of gameplay is not like other basketball games.

The game overall is good, but not great. One of the highlights of this game is The Life mode. The Life mode lets you create your own character and take him through a rigorous, yet profitable adventure on the court. This is all very fun and dandy at first, but what about after you are done? What do you do next? Play it over? Maybe. Or just stop there? Even though The Life is too short, there are many other things to do in NBA 09 The Inside, including mini games, like one-on-one, golf(basketball style), and my favorite: the PlayStation Skills Challenge. The mini games are fun to try, but can be difficult at times.

The style of this game can seem awkward at first. This is because there are times on the court when something just doesn't go right. Like when you are guarding someone really tight and you're up in their face, and, somehow, they still make the shot.Or like when players who don't dunk at all, like Steve Nash or Chris Paul, are busy pulling of 360's on the rim.
Another reason the style may seem unlikable is that during a game, when you are playing, it can be practically impossible to defend the computer from scoring; however, it can be extremely easy to score yourself-just pull off some spins and some crossovers, and, like magic, you're right under the hoop.

The gameplay style can take a little time to getting used to, but when you adapt to it, your gaming expierence can become a very enjoyable one; and it is fun to see the tiny players dunk!
