The additional characters don't save this game from getting boring

User Rating: 6.5 | Naruto: Konoha Spirits PS2
Positive
- New playable characters
- More options
- Can be played with another person

Negative
- The game and combat are way easy
- Cutscenes are awful
- Combat gets still repetitive and boring

This game is quite dissapointing. Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles 2 has still most of the problem that the previous Uzumaki Chronicles have. Some things have changed, like there are more options and multiplayer modes.

Unlike the first game, this time your enemies are seen in the series. The enemies are the Shirogane Clan, a clan of puppet master. Some say that the clan was all dead, but some were still alive, and the remaining memeber are looking for some 'spiriti orbs' in order to revive their Master Puppet, that can destroy whole nations. These members send puppets to search for the orbs.

One thing in common with the first one, is that the combat is very repetitive. I know that the first Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles was easy but this much much easier. Cutscenes weren't a problem in the last installment but now. It's true. You will sleep in the cutscenes, thanks to some bad voice acting. Characters in the game makes things boring, but cutscenes can be skipped. Aside from that, this time you won't use Naruto only. There are more playable characters like Sakura, Kakashi and Neji. There is also a hidden character. Attacks could have had more depth. By pressing the R1 button, using Naruto, 4 shadow clones come out. You don't get to fill the chakra meter and use it as you want. But some think that that is ok.

Another good thing is there are some options. You can take missions, not in the story. This isn't a mission based action game like the first game. The story follows a linear path. In missions you can choose who ever you want . There is a mode that you can take on, one on one, your partner. Multiplayer mode. Something that wasn't in the first one. Even though its not very deep, it still can be fun.

Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles 2 dosen't have a slow start. The action starts from the beginning and the story is easy to follow. Not complicated by repetitive. The only missions objective are to beat the hell out of your enemies, untill there is nobody left. Like the other one, when travelling, you meet bandits. Unlike Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles 1, this can be cleared in just a minute or two, much easier than the first. Bosses are easier than they were and not that exciting. I think this game could have had the three party members fighting at the same time. Not swithing to one another. Environments, some of them have changed, but still get repetitive.

The most things that Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles 2 took from its predessor are most of the problem. The combat still gets repetitive, but at least side-missions are that boring. Still the only mission objective is beat-'em-up or protect the cart. One other thing, the enemies can be handled with one character. With Naruto you can take them out with no sweat. You can still use Naruto's nine tail chakra, just that this time is better. You can give more than 70 hits. And also Naruto appears in 1 tail, not just red chakra.

Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles 2 isn't really the graphical side, neither the sound side. The game has everything balanced. Well maybe graphics and sound both deserve a 7 or a 6.

Overall Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles 2 is still not good enough. Only a few efferts have been had, and less than a year have passed. This game should have took more time to be released, to focus more on combat and other flaws that were in the first game. Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles isn't broken but could have been alot better if it wasn't for its broken cutscenes and repetitive combat.
