A departure from the norm, but definitely not a game to be overlooked if your a Naruto fan.

Uzumaki Chronicles 2 (UC2), is a very enjoyable Naruto game. UC2 takes place after the main Naruto story line, and before Shippuden, making it a Time Skip game, which is a period often neglected by other Naruto games.

Something people overlook is the completely original story, which was created specifically for this game, and is unique in its own right. This adds an extra dimension to the game, which many Naruto fans will enjoy following.

The Story Mode lasts around 10 hours, and is comprised of ten chapters, each involving Naruto and his ninja comrades foiling the evil plans of the Shirogane clan. This is all accompanied by cut-scenes pack to the gills with information and all perfectly voice acted, which is quite a feat.

After the Story Mode, there are Missions to complete, which allow you to power up your characters and play the game long after you've finished the short Story Mode.

There is a specific Vs Mode, where you can battle a friend head to head with a team of two characters, with a choice of five scenic backdrops.

The fighting system in UC2 is interesting and well thought out. All fighting is 3D, similar to Rise of a Ninja. Characters can launch weak attacks, strong attacks, projectile weapons and special jutsu moves. These can all be used in patterns to unleash a variety of different combo attacks.

The graphics in UC2 are nice and easy on the eyes, and each character is portrayed as they are in the anime with no faults.

Overall, Uzumaki Chronicles 2 is a great game. It is a departure from the strict fighting games of those in the Ultimate Ninja series, and it is more concerned with the story mode. It is good for some light action, and a fun multiplayer brawler, but works equally well as a single player game. There is a lot of depth to UC2 and it's definitely a game you'll be playing for a long time once you've purchased it.
