They attempted a USA Exclusive, and failed...

I really wished Rev. 2 was as good as everyone thinks it is. Mostly die hard Naruto fans will defend anything with his name written on it. As a teen that has gone the lengths to buy it's Japanese counter-part (Naruto: Gekitō Ninja Taisen! 4). I have to say, this game by far, is the worst Naruto game I have played. I own CofN2, GNT4, and the latest game in Japan which is EX3. I would of spent my money on EX3 and never of touched Rev. 2 if I knew ahead of time that most of the elements that made the series great were greatly edited in this USA Exclusive. The character roster is solid, and it removes the filler characters like Crow and Akamaru, but there are major balancing issues. Kabuto retains his health restoring powers like GNT4, but this recovers almost 3/4's of damage given to him. This allows him to win pretty much every match because of this major flaw. The game has a nice set of new and different stages that I enjoy looking at, and the music fits well. The main point of Naruto games is the combo system. What made GNT4 great was it's combo system, and if you think that's here, it's not. Rev. 2's combo system was toned down a lot, making combos almost pointless. Some basic combos completely miss, weither it's because of the change in the system or because of the terrible hit detection. The game has very good special affects, which a great showing of the special moves. There are many small half-made or lazy basic affects in Rev 2. Which lowers it's overall presentation, some of the most basic graphical gestures are completely missing which is small but noticable. The AI is at most, great at throw escapes and tech rolls from falling, Other then that the AI is terrible, showing no sence of intelligence. The AI uses the substitution jutsu at the same spot in a combo everytime, and can be easily outwitted. When AI uses Rock Lee it will enter the Gate of Life with a good amount of health left, which shows no sence of strategy. Rev. 2 also contains many little bigs and glitches that ruin the gameplay. Rock Lee seems to be the most troubled character because his basic juggle has gone through opponents in the past, totally ruining the mommentum you have. I've also been able to hit an opponent that was behind me with basic combos which should never happen. There's just to many small bugs and problems the ruin the overall experiance. If you own any other CofN or GNT Naruto, then please pass this one up.
