The game is great, but very complicated.

The only other 'Total War' title, which I have played is 'Rome'. That game is archaic, in the warfare that it exhibits. The diplomacy options are very basic. I loved the look and feel of 'Napoleon', but I will have to read the manual, since the tutorial is very distracting. When one is looking at the game, the voice instructions of the tutorial goes on, and so one cannot concentrate on either. I looked at the tutorial once, and tried my hand at playing Prussia, but I didn't know what I was doing. But, this game is very sophisticated, in the layout, and forget about Napoleon ambition, the making of this game is extremely an ambitious act. From the days of 'F-16 Fighting Falcon', during the MS DOS era, games have come a long way. The way naval warfare is portrayed, is very good to see. The game reminds me of the battlefront.com game 'Theatre of War 2, Kursk, 1943'. That is another game, which I do not know a lot about, from the demo. In 'Rome, Total War', one needs to make the soldiers drill in a particular way, which is effective, during a battle. I became quite accomplished courtesy that drill which I fashioned for 'Rome'. But I have not finished that game. I find it quite tedious. Napoleon, on the other hand, is superb.
