Namco X Capcom is a unique strategy RPG with characters from the Namco and Capcom universe in it.

Namco X Capcom was a game only released in Japan. I was hoping it would come out in the U.S. but it did not so I had to import it instead. While you can easily play this game without knowing what everything means if you know the story it makes the game a whole lot better and while it does have alot of characters from both the Namco and Capcom series chances are there will be a few that aren't there.

Graphics - The opening movie is a full anime cutscene and is very nice. The characters also have a nice look to them when they talk in the game and the in battle animations are pretty good as well. Aside from all this the rest isn't really impressive but it didn't bother me too much.

Gameplay - The gameplay style is like that of any other strategy RPG such as FF Tactics or Fire Emblem where your characters move around on a grid and AP is used to determine who goes next in the game. When you do get into battle though you have 5 different moves you can pull of and a certain number of any of these moves in each battle. If your SP meter is full you can pull of a special for added damage. Each character has their own special traits and moves that they can pull off. Ryu and Ken can do their moves from street fighter while characters like Bruce and Regina from Resident Evil: Dead Aim and Dino Crisis are good long range fighters who use guns. There are also moves called multiple assaults that you can do. These usually involve more than one character attacking one or multiple people. An example would be Ryu and Ken using a double shoryuken on one opponent. These moves cost MP but are generally worth using. The game progresses in chapters and inbetween chapters you can save, check stats, shop (later in the game,) practice, and equip accesories and items to characters. The story is surprisingly good with how it makes all the characters fit in together in one game. Most of your main enemies will be bosses from different games such as Megaman Juno and many more. This game is very very long however and can get a bit repititous as its pretty easy to win each fight.

Sound - Nothing to complain about here really. Its all really good. Each character has their own theme from their games which is really cool.

Overall - I enjoyed this game alot. It was different than most strategy RPGs out there as it focuses on in battle combat. If you want a game with all your favorite Namco and Capcom characters and even some you may not know in it then this is probably the game for you. You probably won't want to go through this game again after you beat it though as it is so long and there aren't alot of choices you can make that do affect the story but it is a game that is definately worth playing if you are a classic gamer as it provides some nostalgic and new experiences in one game.
