Grest game of baseball, one of the best.

MVP Baseball 2004 pretty much revolutionized the term "baseball video game". It has so much that you can do in a (baseball) game. First is the Pure Swing System. This allows you to actually control where you want to hit the ball by holding the left thumbstick in any direction at the same time you hit the ball. The next is the Big Play Control. When you are in control of an outfielder, you can move the right thumbstick to make a diving or sliding catch. You can also "own the base paths". While a player is running, move the right thumbstick in any direction to slide or dive headfirst to a base. Also each teams AAA and AA minor league teams are playable as well.

The developers must've spent a lot of time with graphics, because this one drop dead great looking game. All the players look like the real thing, even those somewhat barely recognizable minor league players. The stadiums are also good and large. One interesting thing about the players' uniforms is that they can get grass or dirt stains on them. The sound mainly comes from the excellent commentary, as they rarely repeat themselves. The crack of the bat and the plop of a caught ball are the best sound effects in my opinion.

If you love baseball and own an Xbox, you should get this game. The good: Players look awesome, commentary is some of the best I've ever heard, Pure Swing System and Big Play control are excellent, base path slides are great looking

The bad: A lot of badly timed fly balls = lots of out
