Excellent Combat makes up for lack of gore.

This game is something I thought I'd never see. I mean My favourite comic book superheroes going up against the fighters from the MK universe ? wow. I had played Deception.Armageddon and Shaolin Monks before this and about 15 minutes into the game I realized that Mortal Kombat vs Dc universe lacks the insane amount of violence that previous instalments had. One the game was rated T for teen so that was an obvious sign before even putting the disc inside my ps3. Second was,Well you can't really have Batman ripping someone's head off can you ? This meant that the fatalities (or heroic brutalities the finishers the Dc cast uses) were incredibly watered down. Though still brutal and lethal (superman smashing someone on the head until they are stuck in rock hard cement,or Green Lantern crushing an opponent in a small green ball) they lack the mutilation and insane violence that other MK games had. don't get me wrong though the game is still bloody. When you punch someone blood spurts out. Keep doing so and more and more comes and soon they'll be so much blood that you feel more like the punisher or blade than Batman or the flash. The game has a nice variety of characters to choose from on both sides. Big wigs like Superman,Batman,Scorpion,Sub Zero,etc each with their own small but satisfying moves in combat. The combos are easy and satisfying to pull of and feel iconic. Wonder Woman has her lasso Batman and his gadgets and Superman with his laser eyes. Now you might wonder why Superman just doesn't win every fight in one much. Well that's where the story comes into play. Despite which side of the story you play,Dcs or Mks either Darkseid of Shao Kahn screws up in the beginning and the worlds are crossed into each other,forming Dark Kahn. Dark Kahn feeds on rage and this "rage" gives powers to the likes of joker to be able to hold his own against Superman. Simple right ? Each side lasts you about 5hrs so you'll be farely busy through the game. Sadly after you eventually beat it you unlock nothing but darkseid and shao Kahn as playable characters. There are no bonus fight arenas, concept art of bonus costumes which is disappointing. Online fighting is here once again but just like before people spam the same move and the excellent combat doesn't really show here. all and all this was a solid fighting game and I recommend it to anyone who wants a cheap fighting game that is pretty damn fun.
