The Dreamcast tries a lifeline.

The Sega Dreamcast is released and Midway wants to make an MK game for it. Not having any fresh ideas, they port MK4 to the new system. However, this isn't just any port.

MK Gold's story remains the same as MK4.

MK Gold is MK4, but with better graphics due to Dreamcast capabilities and more characters! Classic characters like Baraka and Cyrax join the war of the Elder Gods!

Controls remain the same. Simple kicks and punches which I have addressed in the last few reviews.

Sound isn't so choppy in MK Gold as it was in MK4, which is a plus.

Along with Goro, Noob-Saibot, and Meat, Sektor returns as a hidden character. FMV endings are also back.

That's MK Gold in a nutshell. Not much changed, but it is still a good game. I believe games like this, plus Sonic and Jet Set Radio would have kept the Dreamcast alive if it wasn't for the PS2.
