Mortal Kombat: Deception is a great game.rnThere is a good number of characters, not so many that their fighting styles become derivative. Each of the characters feel defined and distinct.rnThe story mode is put together well and looks sharp, and adds some much needed depth to the series.rnThe only thing that could have used some extra attention is the mini games, especially one in particular that involves falling bricks. They feel like obvious filler, who's only purpose is to break up the game, which they do.rnThe inclusion of the original fighting modes was a nice touch, and the having to unlock your upgrades as well as concept art and other bonuses keeps you coming back for more.rnThe combat is surprisingly deep for such a seemingly simple game which can be picked up by almost anyone, and will require some serious practice in order to beat the game on its harder settings.rnAnyone who is into fighting games should definitely check it out.
