Well, it's the newest instalment to the MK series, and you can be sure it won't be the last. Mortal Kombat : Deception, has a lot to live up to, there has been so many great games with the mortal Kombat name, this is the Second MK to be created for the Playstation 2. MK : Deception, is a great game, and Theres loads of new feature in this MK, such as Puzzle Combat, and Konquest mode, also, a room FULL of unlockables. But First, There's the fighting system, that will be forever loved. There ars So many different moves, Combos, ad special tricks in this game, it's Virtually Impossible, to learn them all, as theres, a wide range of different characters, and three styles per fighter. But, even if you can only remember the odd move, you should still find this greatly enjoyable, The fighting never gets old, especially when you find out some the games more 'Advance' techniques, such as Scorpions Spear throw, Subzero's Freezing abilities, and Ermac's Pyschic powers, it, is simply brilliant. The New features are also fun to play about with, such as Chess, and a tetris style game, MK style, including Deaths, etc, when you, or your opponent makes a good move. But the most interesting feature, has to be the Brand New Konquest mode, which see's you, playing through the life of Shujinko, starting as a teenager, and slowly growing into old age, as you progress through the worlds, this mode also assists greatly towards the player understanding the story of this complex game. As you get further into this game, you get trained by the majority of MK fighters, you can fight them all, and even Unlock them, in your quest. There is also a ''Krypt'', with 400 different koffins, which can be opened with Keys and Koins, which are earned by doing errands, jobs, and fighting in Konquest mode, Koins are also earned when fights are won in Arcade mode, in these Koffins, are Characters, Arenas, even production art and character Bios. Finally, theres the Classic Fatalities, special, extremely Gory moves, That can be used by using a certain combination of buttons at the end of a Fight, these include, chopping of limbs, breaking bone, and So many ''Special'' different fatalities, each unique to there character, For example When Ermac, the psychic expert, levitates his oppoent, then smashes them on th floor, 'till they are eventually smashed up, in a great mess. If you are a fan of fighting games, such as Tekken, or have previously owned an MK game, I highly reccomend this game, You'll love it, but if you don't like fighting games, I'd leave it.
