MORTAL KOMBAT!!!

User Rating: 9 | Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance PS2
This is probably one of my favorite Mortal Kombat games of all time. It felt like a completely new experience. This game introduced many things new to the Mortal Kombat series. Now let's start it off with the story, The two Sorcerers Shang Tsung and Quan Chi have formed a Deadly Alliance to resurrect the Dragon King's army and to achieve immortality. They are now a threat to Earth and Raiden has relinquished his title as Elder God to gather up a bunch of warriors to defeat the Deadly Alliance. The storyline is great and the game offers some great modes. You have the famous Arcade mode to defeat the Deadly Alliance, Versus to fight a friend or enemy, Practice mode, Konquest where you go on a journey to practice each fighter's skills, and The Krypt to unlock content such as characters, alternate costumes, images and etc. The game has a great roster with 21 characters featuring Mortal Kombat favorites such as Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Sonya Blade, Johnny Cage, Raiden, Kung Lao and Reptile. The game also has new characters such as Frost, Drahmin, Movado and Kenshi. Now, what's Mortal Kombat without fatalities, each character has a brutal fatality except for Quan Chi's neck stretcher. The game also introduces a new 3 style fighting system, two are unarmed kombat, and 1 style has a weapon to use during kombat. All three work well and have amazing kombos and you can chain combos into the next fighting style. I saved the best for last, Arcade. It's great just as always and ends with your 3 frustrating bosses Moloch, Quan Chi and Shang Tsung. It's great to fight Shang Tsung as a final boss again since the first Mortal Kombat. The only complaint about the game was each character only had 1 fatality, and there were no stage fatalities. Overall, this game is nearly flawless. One of the greatest Mortal Kombat games in the serie....... FATALITY
