This was a sad attempt to bring MK4 to 2D on Game Boy. It was never easy to take games from the arcade and put them onto a handheld platfrom like MK1, MK2, and MK3. I can't imagine that MK4 was any easier.

A lot of the characters from MK4 are missing. The ones that did make it to the final roster lost some special moves because of memory constraints. It's sad because you have to rely on special moves in this game since the game's response time seems to be lacking.

The fatalities aren't quite the same as the console platforms, they're pretty sad actually. It looks like a loaded animation rather than it happening in real time. The stages don't even look like they came from MK4.

I would only consider playing this game if I was stuck on a 15 hour road trip. I would rather play the other fighting games I bought for my GBC.
