A dissapointing game to begin with, was made even worse on the SNES. But still, I guess it's not too bad.

Mortal Kombat 3! The 3rd game of the popular Mortal Kombat series. It still was heavily popular with arcade machines having huge lines when it was first released into the arcade! It has a bunch of new characters, and new looks and twists for the old characters! There's tons of new arenas, as well! But, there is many problems. First of all, the new cyborg ninjas are not nearly good enought to compete with the human ninjas, which are now completely unexistent. Except Sub-Zero, which dosen't look like a ninja at all anymore. Why is this you may ask? Let me explain. In MK1 the character "Sub-Zero" was introduced, but he was assinated before Mortal Kombat 2 was released, they claimed this was Sub-Zero's younger brother who's name was "Sub-Zero", and apparently the one in MK` was the "oringinal" Sub-Zero. But, as they looked exactly the same, many Mortal Kombat fans did not believe them, so they decided to give Sub-Zero a completely different look in Mortal Kombat 3, so the fans would believe them. This look really is horrible, and is no where near as good as his ninja outfit. Also every single other human ninja is abscent in the game, including Scorpion. Many other characters were given a different look as well, such as Kano,Sonya and Jax. This new look may be a little better than Sub-Zero's new look, but it still is now where near as good as there Mortal Kombat 1 and Mortal Kombat 2 counterpart costumes. Also to mention the game went directly to a New York City theme, rather than a more combat-based theme like Mortal Kombat 1 and Mortal Kombat 2 had. This change in my opinion, was not a good idea. Also the graphics in this version of Mortal Kombat 3 is far worse than it's arcade counterpart. The sound is now where near as good as it's arcade counterpart as well, but still, the graphics and sounds are decent, at least. But on the brighter side, there's a new secret options mode, in which you unlock them by entering a button combination, which is long and difficult in most of them. You can do many awesome things on this mode such as playing as Shao Kahn, playing as Motaro, and playing as Robot Smoke, without having to enter in the long, annoying, and outrageously difficult Ultimate Kombat Kode. This game can also get quite intense when playing with another person, or fighting the computer. Overall, this game was a decent game, and most of the problems I was talking about were solved in Ultimate Mortal Kombat III, with keeping all the good parts of this game, and more. If you have Ultimate Mortal Kombat III however, there's no need for this game, but if you find this for a few dollars at a yard sale or video game store and you want to play Mortal Kombat, and you can't find Ultimate Mortal Kombat III, I guess it is a good idea to get it, if you feel like getting it.
