It may seem enticing at first, but there's still a dime a dozen with this title.

I remember in the days when Mortal Kombat was reaching its heyday. Those were the good days. But unfortunately, then the more modern early 21st-century era came where more disappointing entries came to be, especially when those entries come in the famously infamous trio of seemingly identical titles: DEADLY ALLIANCE, DECEPTION, and ARMAGEDDON, which is still the worst game I've ever played. After years of trying times, just when their next title could be the end of the series, they came back with something that surprised us to our heart's content. That surprise was the new 2011 MORTAL KOMBAT. This MORTAL KOMBAT. At first, I was puking rainbows upon seeing a few minutes of gameplay. But when I actually got my hands on the game, I was actually really disappointed, as if someone had just taken out a piece of my heart.

THE GOOD
- Great graphics and voicing
- Superb gameplay
- Entertainingly crafted mini-games and bonuses
- Fatalities are more creatively violent than ever before
- X-ray moves are impressive additions to the mix
- The Krypt is better than ever before.
THE BAD
- No versus mode?!?!
- Some fatalities are made from mashing two old ones together. HELLO? ORIGINALITY?
- The tournament mode becomes increasingly harder

Gameplay: 7/10
Graphics: 9/10
Entertainment: 8/10
Sound & Voice: 8/10
Lasting Value: 8/10
FINAL SCORE: 40/50 (B, respectively)

A well-rounded entry into the series, definitely the true invigoration we've been waiting for, but not the best fighting game of 2011.
