Kind of like a Fisher/Price 'My First Crash Bandicoot': A basic item collecting romp through a Disney world.

Monsters Inc. Scream Team is the latest game from Disney Interactive, and it combines everything the little children loved about the Disney/Pixar movie: It has charming characters, it is visually alright (nicer on a big screen) and it has a variety of different situations put together nicely into a tale of heroic preportions. Scream Team also manages to ruin these factors as well. The character models are very basic, and for a later Playstation game, they are unimpressive. the controls and camera, put simply, are atrocious. Main characters Mike and Sulley slide around like they are butter in a hot fry pan, and couldn't turn around on a large dartboard, let alone the expected 10 or 20 cent piece so common in games these days. The levels come down to a simple button mashing combat that sees the monsters scaring the kids enough until they scream and die. Each kid is coloured, so a red child would be harder to scare than a green one. This is very formulaic, and while it is nice to innovate, there are plenty of different ways to vary this nice mechanic, all of which weren't dreamt up by Disney Ineractive.

But let's face it, Disney Interactive are never going match up to Nintendo, Ubisoft or EA, but they do produce good games for kids. In Scream Team there are some nice bonus extras, like unlockable movie clips. It is also a long-ish game for kids, but it won't really keep them entertained for very long at all. Poor.
