Gamespot deffinatly needs to review their review...
1. "its too hard" Ok so let me ask you this. When you buy a game do you want a game thats so easy you can beat in an hour? Or a game thats so easy you have it mastered with every armor set, and every weapon in a days time? No!!!!!! Most people buy a game for the challenge and fun of playing it, not for the ease of it.
2. "the camera is horrible!" Well i played the original monster hunter, and yes at first i hated the camera, but then i figured it out after about 30mins or so. After i learned how to use it, it started to become fluent with the gameplay, it wasnt a "attack twice, oops the monster moved, stop, reposition camera, attack again, repeat" it was a "attack, roll, L1, attack, block, ect". The fact is, the camera isnt as bad as everyone claims it is once you get used to it and learn how to use it.
3. "theres no health bar!!" Well get over it. I mean seriously, how many games have you actually played (excluding computer games) that have a health bar over the boss. You dont even really need one in this game because the monster will eventually limp/start running/or make some type of movement to indicate that it is low on health. So really there is a health bar, but more of a natural one.
4. "the weapons are too slow!!! Hmmm... Well that right there shows me that you have never played the game to its full extent, and probably only played it for about an hour. Yes, some of the weapons are slow, but they arent all slow. I mean look at some of the weapons compared to the scale of the characters!!! Of course their going to be slow!!!!!!! Now look at the smaller weapons in the game... Hmm notice something yet? I hope, because guess what? THEIR THE FASTER WEAPONS BECAUSE OF THEIR WEIGHT!!!!!! It doesnt take a genius to figure that one out, use some common sense once in a while and you might actually enjoy this game, and if you dont have any common sense, i guess you suffer.. =P Sorry for your loss.
Ok so my final thought about the people who say those things is: Play the game, get your skill up, figure out the game more, and uhh ohh, wow, uhh guess what?!?!?!?!?!?! ITS NOT SO HARD ANYMORE IS IT??? Do you wanna know why it isnt? Because you have become better at the game! Congratulations!!! You may now finally be able to enjoy this great game!
Now heres my thinking on whether to buy this game or not:
I personally bought a psp just for this game. But if you are the type of gamer that cant figure a few minor things out for himself, read the manual, or take the time to actually try out the game, then dont buy the game. But if you are one of the mass numbers of people out there that can do that, grab your car keys, grab your wallet, and go to the nearest game store and buy it!!! You wont regret it.
