True classic that never gets old

User Rating: 8 | Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: LeChuck's Revenge PS3
The controls are slightly better than the previous Monkey Island game, but that also means you will need to get used to the new controls again if you played the first one earlier. Other than that its what you will expect from a Monkey Island game but even more complicated. There will be more items to find but some are here only to hinder your progress that don't have a purpose so they will confuse you. There are also more islands to visit so solving puzzles is even more complicated since you need to visit them all frequently and combine your knowledge and items found on them. Also there is more backtracking this time around. Solutions are not always logical, so it will take much brainstorming to get past them.

Dialogues are funny and interesting and gameplay is slow paced, so its in the spirit of the game to stop and think about what you are doing and what needs to be done. The game might take you about 10 hours if you get lucky and somehow manage to figure things out, if not you might be stuck for quite some time. The hint system might help you a bit but in most cases wont give you a direct solution and might leave you stuck again no matter how many times you use it. Overall its a great game if you like funny adventures with a pirate theme. There isnt anything bad or wrong with the game, its just hard and absurd with solutions at times, but dont be afraid to try it out if you like a challenge of wits.
