It's not a bad game, but doesn't feel different from the other installments.

I like when a game franchise keeps it's integrity and will find resemblance in between titles, and not compromise what the previous game did well. Somehow ModNation Racers roadTrip uses the same formula that made the previous PSP title good, didn't noticed any significant improvements on the gameplay aspect, which is quite a left down taking in consideration that the VITA has unique control options. They didn't even try to use the same story telling approach that the PSP title had, even thought I didn't like it initially, not having it here, just made this title feel a little incomplete... slapped together.

The racing aspect is quite enjoyable even though my vehicle felt underpowered compared to the other opponents, so there's need to use your boosts and power ups strategically. It's not a bad thing at the end of the day if you like this approach. The menu was a little confusing to get a hold on, but it sync in after a while, but this is just a minor annoyance for me.

If you're looking for a fun over the top racing game this could be a lot of fun, but don't expect a very deep experience in here. There's fun to have nodding cars, characters and tracks, but not really for me. If you would like to get to the final "Bonus Tour" be prepared to replay some levels in order to get some of the pre-requisits, I wasn't patient enough to get through it, even if I was able to get 1st position in all the 5 previous Tours. Again, not for everybody, but check it out if you own a VITA system.
