While it's still the most realistic MLB game out there, the game itself can be very frustrating to play.

User Rating: 8 | MLB 12: The Show PS3
I'll try to keep this short and to the point. This game is without a doubt the best MLB game out there for you to play. The graphics are still phenomenal, if not the same as last year's game. Controls are solid, tight and varied with many different ways for you to play. It's tuned realistically and player's will play as well as you expect them to. There are many different modes for you to play, although I have not played them all. With some of those things said, this game has many weird gameplay quirks and difficulty can get overbearing for some. A long learning curve is required for new players to the series.

Positives:

+Graphics are top notch
+Accurate ratings, custom player stances
+Plenty of game modes
+Ability to play most game modes with the Move
+Smooth framerate

- Largely similar menu interface, for better or worse
- Online play is still pretty laggy, making it unplayable for yet another season
- Classic hitting controls are hard to master
- Twitchy fielding animations
- Significant difficulty boost between Veteran and All-Star levels

Overall, if you are a big baseball fan then you need to get this game. It's not an easy game but it's realistic. It's the closest thing to a baseball simulation you will find out there on the market. MLB 2K12 is a joke compared to this. Yes there are some frustrations with this game but post-release support has been phenomenal.
