Overly Hyped because of the stellar graphics. This game falls short in how the game play mechanics are delivered.

User Rating: 6.5 | MLB 10: The Show PS3
I started playing the game about a week ago; I am a late comer to the PS3, I just got mine back in January 2011. I have put in between 10 - 20 hours and have to say that the game looks amazing! The players mannerisms have been captured to a tee, it looks like you are watching a real game on the tube. However, I am disappointed at the lackluster game play mechanics when it comes to the pitching (which is a major part of any baseball game). It feels like they were trying to copy the old school MVP Baseball series by EA, but fell short on making usable controls. The pitching meter is just horrendous!! I have never seen something so unforgiving, let alone difficult to pull off. The pitching meter should have had a differing difficulty level based on each different pitchers performance for the prior year, and based on what pitches they are best at throwing. The show gives you a skinny yellow line about the width of a needle in which you need to be able to stop on in order to throw the ball where you were meaning to. If you are off the slightest little bit, you can expect the opposing team to knock a homerun. The critics give this game way too much praise. MVP baseball 2004 was the last really good baseball game, if you want anything even close to that on the next gen systems, go pick up MLB 2K10.
