may get boring after a while (as do all sports games), but still worth playing.

User Rating: 8 | MLB 07: The Show PS2
With fun and enjoyable game modes and features, the ps2 version of MLB 07 the show surpasses it's PS3 copy.

Gameplay:

There are sets of difficulty you can play at from rookie to h.o.f. and each game lasts 9 innings even though you can change this. Default Commands: (offense)

x = hit (tap x for check swing)

square; = power swing (not on rookie difficulty)

o = bunt (o right before pitch comes over the bag = drag bunt)

(when on base)

R1 = lead off

L2 = steal

R2 = head back to base

L1 = advance

Default Commands (defence)

Left Analog Stick = move

R2/L2 = dive right/left

R1 = jump

o = throw to 1st base

triangle; = throw to 2nd

square = throw to 3rd

x = throw to home base

Gameplay-Commentary:

The same commentary as always featuring Rex Hudler, Matt Vascergian, and Dave Campbell. While the commentary gets repetitive, Rex may get excited when you jump over the wall to save a homerun.

Gameplay-Graphics:

Not much improvement from mlb 06 the show, graphics remain smooth but rough at some points, could use improvements as the designers of this game clearly ignored the little details on the players. Even with those flaws, the graphical representation for the Major League Stadiums were pretty neat and were true to life.

Game Modes/Features:

I noticed more modes and features for the ps2 version then the ps3 which impressed me, as the game modes are the best part of this game.

Game Modes-Franchise:

Start a run at the World Series by selecting any one of the 30 available major leauge and minor leauge teams (taking controls of the MLB, AAA, and AA). Manage player salaries, team funds, bank accounts, etc. You may even start a fantasy draft (which i reccomend) but with 75 rounds to that, you'll need some patience. Game Modes-Career:

Create your own player and work him up from the lowest of the low to being a hall of fame potential player. This mode tends to get boring and training your player gets tedious as your ratings go down if you don't pay the slightest attention to them.

Game Modes-Rivarly: Set up and maintain multi-game rivarlies against another player or the CPU, series can go up to 7 games as stats are kept during this period. Game Modes-Season:

Basically like a trial version of Franchise Mode. Play 1 season up to 162 games and try to take the championship at year 1.

Game Modes-King of the Diamond:

My favorite mode of the game, which lets you select 2 players as you can choose to ladder your way up against rookies to all stars in a pitch and hit arcade-like game with fresh commentary.

Game Features-My sliders:

The "my sliders" feature lets gamers take control of the game by going in-depth on difficulty and letting them change setting based on their play level.

Game Features-Create a player:

Basically, you create your own player, assign him to a team, which lets you give the Eye-Toy a try, and, well, there you go....

Game Features-Guess Pitch:

By pressing the R2 button during your at-bat (before the pitcher pitches the ball) you can try and guess that the next pitch is based on command. If you guess right, a red marker will indicate where the ball will wind up making it easier for you to hit.

The Good: king of the diamond is fun, franchise mode isnt horrible, playable minor leauge teams, good stadium designs,

The Bad: some mlb players (such as bons and daisuke) arent in the game, graphics could be a tad better, career mode is boring, repetitive gameplay,

While I do only reccommend this game for baseball fans, it may still be a fun game to play against family and friends. Final Ratings-

Gameplay: 8/10

Graphics: 7/10

Sound: 8/10

Controls: 9/10

Fun Factor: 8/10

Final Score: 40/50 > 8/10: great
