I hope you like jumping, because that is all you'll be doing in this game.

User Rating: 2.7 | Mighty Bomb Jack NES
Gameplay- The main objective of Mighty Bomb Jack is to get Jack (who looks like an eggplant with a cape) to the end of each short stage in a giant labyrinth pyramid like thing ("like thing" is a technical term). At the end of each of these stages that consist of the same 4 enemies that will randomly appear anywhere, including where Jack is standing, walking or jumping (resulting in the loss of one life completely unavoidably) you will find a small area filled with more randomly appearing enemies and bombs that are gathered similarly to how Mario gets coins. I believe in theory if you are too slow these bombs will detonate and result in a game over. This has never happend to me because I will either "defuse" them all, or die from one of the enemies that appears in a space right where I am landing. Mighty Bomb Jack has no powers or abilities other than the ability to jump high. He acends very quickly and decends slowly due to his cape. For a game that requires someone to jump as much as Bomb Jack does, Mighty Bomb Jack does a fairly good job. It has a smooth easy and responsive movement engine. Story-2/10 You are Mighty Bomb Jack. Your relation to bombs is never explained and you are everything buy mighty since it is not possible to attack. You have no motivation whatsoever to take down your nemesis the evil lord "Beezlebutt". Mighty Bomb Jack gets points for storyline only because it's so bad, it's funny. Sound/Graphics- Graphics are average in Mighty Bomb Jack. Each mummy, or floating head is accurately portrayed using tne fullest capabilities of the NES. The problem lies in the fact that they are mummies and purple floating heads. This game falters on sound. There are about 8 sound effects and two different musics that I can think of. None of these horrendously repetetive musics or sound effects are at all enjoyable. Playtime/Replayability- If the maze in this game is mapped out, it is possible to beat Mighty Bomb Jack in less than 15 minutes. If not mapped, it will take you hours upon hours of moving through doors that usually take you back at least a half hours worth of progress. This is of course provided that you are not killed in any of the areas and sent back to the beginning by touching one of the mummies or floating heads and birds that will randomly appear everywhere. ...unless this is the only game you own, you will never want to play Mighty Bomb Jack again. Final Recommendation- I recommend that you stay very far from Mighty Bomb Jack. You could be playing something better. -Geusprime
