Great for a PSN game. The multiplayer and campaign are both worth playing.

I really like this game; I have been enjoying it in campaign mode and enjoyed playing the local multiplayer. The campaign story is not hugely original, but serves the purpose of creating a purpose for the battles and is both challenging at times an easy at others. The graphics are a bit cutesy for my taste, but look very good (although it is hard to tell if a deer unit is green or blue). Not quite the depth you would expect from a full $60 game, but I enjoy it as much as many full price games I have played.
What I really like is it gives me a new shorter 2-player game to battle with. I enjoy playing games like Dr. Mario, Tetris and Bomberman in a 2-player battle type of mode, so this was very welcome as a new possibility with a subtle depth that you appreciate once you play. The experience of playing as different heroes really requires you to play with a different strategy and reminds me of the different color spells in Magic: The Gathering (though not nearly the depth of M:TG). I think there is still a free demo available, but the demo doesn't quite pull you in until you try the multiplayer and can see how the champion and elite units (and choosing which to put into you army) really make it much more strategic than a basic puzzle game. The fact that reaction time is not a factor helps as sometimes you want to play without running at 100 miles per hour (although it is nice that there is a timer available for multiplayer).
