Great street racing game!

Midnight Club: Los Angeles is a great street racing game. It's similar to the other games in the series. In the career mode you basically cruise around L.A. looking for other drivers and you flash your headlights at them to start a race. In races you don't have to stick to a certain path, there are checkpoints placed around the city and there are plenty of shortcuts to take. There are also tournaments, which are a series of races. You don't have to win all the races in a tournament, but the higher you place the more points you will get and whoever has the most points wins the tournament. There are hangouts in the game where you can make bets with other drivers and race for pink slips. Some other race types are red light races and highway races. In red light races you race another driver from a red light to another checkpoint. In highway races you flash your headlights at a driver on the highway and the race starts immediately, you race to an exit. As you win races you earn rep, and your rank increases. You will unlock new cars and upgrades as your rank goes up. Also, there are cops in the city so make sure they don't pull you over or you have to pay the fine.
The car customization is excellent. You can customize pretty much anything on your car including body kits, rims, tint, neon, seats, steering wheels, interior colors, and so much more. Performance upgrades are simple because this isn't a simulation, you just choose a part and pick the highest level for best performace. You can even submit your cars online for people to rate and buy.
There is a good selection of cars in the game. Obviously there aren't as much cars as Gran Turismo but there is still a good variety and every car has a different feel. Car types include tuners, muscles, exotics, luxuries, motorcycles, and even SUVs and cop cars if you buy the DLC.
The graphics are amazing, the city looks great and so do the cars. The sound is good and there is a good variety of music in the game. If you want a good street racing game with a lot of customization, then you should enjoy this game.
