This game won't go easy on you, But the fact that it's actually hard is what modern gamers need!

Rockstar hit the nail right on the head with Midnight Club: LA. The scenery in this game is just a small slice of the cake. With absolutely stunning graphics, and a breath taking recreation of Los Angeles. Players immediately begin to appreciate the game.
As the player progresses, It is quickly learned that there isn't much of a storyline to follow here. But come on, it's a street racing game who's worried about a good plot? The first couple races feel just like most games in this genre. Stay in front, avoid the traffic, and get to the finish first. But later down the road when the better cars begin to become available...wow does it change. I'l be honest, the game gets infuriating sometimes. What should be a simple race comes down to flawless driving. Face it..one wipeout and 85% of the time theres no regaining the lead..unless your on a motorcycle. But then the games to easy :) But anyway..tight cornering, flawless steering, using nos at the right times, checking behind you constantly, and avoiding the cops are all essential to pull out ONE win in this game. And do I hate that? Absolutely NOT. This has been the first game since like..the classic metroid games where ive lost..and lost..and lost, until i was finally good enough to win. It keeps getting harder and i love it. a lot of players and critics rate this game negatively because, and i quote "Even the easiest difficulty in this game can be considered hard, or very hard in most others." Not that I would know because in ANY game i play i always choose either normal or hard difficulty. But either way, are we that spoiled by autosaves, checkpoints, and pointless "gameovers" that professional critics rate negatively due to difficulty? Ohh where will the line be drawn?..
Well either way, when you bundle the great looks, sounds, and design of this game. Throw in a massive selection of nice cars, with a customization garage thats JUUST right and not to complicated. Plus the unique freeway races, random order checkpoint races..and hell, races where YOU make and choose your path. I think you get your moneys worth. Plus with tonnes of challenges to beat, and 50 or 60 colectables throughout the city you can easily throw 100 hours into this game like I have. I love a difficult game, and Rockstar definetly delivered on this one in my opinion. For some people it's just to hard..but for me, I say "wheres the sequel?"
