Not as good as the first, but still a must own game for the Gamecube system.

User Rating: 9.2 | Metroid Prime 2: Echoes GC
Gameplay: You are a bounty hunter named Samus Aran sent on a mission to help a race known as the Luminoth. You'll be instructed to find some keys throughtout the world called Aether. However, a meteor hits the Aether and opens a portal to a parallel dimension known as Dark Aether. You'll be traveling through both sides of Aether collecting these keys and bring the planet back into balance. This game is not a first person shooter (You may have heard this before.). You'll have many familiar items like morph ball mode and Varia Suit and Energy Tanks and Missiles and Visors. There are new items as well. One of is the Seeker Missile Launcher which locks on up to 5 targets and fire a missile on each one. Again, there is not much of a story line and you'll be using your Scan Visor to search for data on computers and other objects and creatures as well. There are some very minor problems with Light Aether and Dark Aether. One could beat the game and notice, though. Plus, I feel there is a little too much of similarity between this and the first Metroid Prime. The controls are the same. Nothing wrong there. The shooting is as fun as ever. Graphics- Superb. However, they are not quite as good as the first Metroid Prime. You put them side by side and you'll notice the difference. Still, they are fantastic and one of the best looking Gamecube games out there. Sound- Different sound tracks this time. Each enemy has its own sounds to make but overall no real improvement to the first Metroid Prime. Value- You'll spend at least 25-30 hours playing your first time through. This game is harder than the last one. The puzzles are more challenging. You are going to find yourself backtracking a lot again. Plus, there's multiplayer which is really fun at first. Once you beat the game, you'll find that it could have had a lot more to it. You may also find not to care for it anymore. Tilt- While this one may be harder it still is worth getting. I wouldn't recommend buying a Gamecube for this one game, but any Gamecube owner should purchase it.
