METRO 2033 is one of the most immersive horrifying games i have ever played. Mood and atmosphere are so thick its like the kind of real world terror one experiances when going on a haunted house ride and there is no escaping the fact that you are living this even if you close your eyes as your friend is screaming by your side.
Graphics- dreamlike in their extreme realism. The grueling level of detail bringing to reality the world of METRO 2033 is unmatched. This is one of those games where the creators went out of the way to an obsessive degree to bring a non-existent world into form. They exemplify with honour the word Artist.
Sound- You will be fooled into thinking you are in Russia and never once doubt it. The voices, the music, the rage of combat and comrades falling will make you feel you just woke up from a dream state once you exit the game. Then you will fall asleep in real life and dream of METRO 2033 such is the convincing nature of the audio. Subliminal message lovers would be proud of the side effects of playing METRO 2033.
Gameplay- Though linear it is tense and very alive with a dark gritty stark as grey skies and cold steel quality where everyday is a harrowing gauntlet just to survive. Images of children in hostile environments used as messengers, women prostituting themselves as their husbands collect the money, pits full of dead bodies, wispy misty gas filled tunnels where monstrous shadows leap out of the shapeless dark into reality monstrous nightmares impossible to comprehend in their existence. Deciet and treachery of human bandits and rival groups desperate and willing to commit any atrocity if it means surviving for one more day...
