This game is ... amazing

User Rating: 9.1 | Metal Slug (PSOne Books) PS
I played this game a long time ago, back when I was a kid. I just remembered how much fun I had playing it so I decided to review it. This will be short, but hopefully I'll cover the main details. Gameplay: Very fun! The enemies come in great variaties, from an ocassional soldier to a military tank. They are all fun to destroy, especially while playing with someone else on your side to back you up. Graphics: Althought they are 2D, the models still look great. Your charecter, enemy soldiers, attack choppers and tanks all animate very fuidly and realisticly. Sound: The sound is good, but is still the worst aspect in the game. The toons are repetitive and only few are catchy. The good thing is that you won't pay attention to the sound too much since you'll be destroying stuff from start to finish and you won't really care about the sound. Value: This game is highly adictive, you'll be coming back to it after completing it many times over. It's just so damn fun! Story: Well, there isn't much of that. But it's a good thing, because you won't be missing any action. The game is pretty short, about 2-3 hours long. But once again, you'll play through it many times so in overall you'll spend a lot of time with this game. I'm reviewing this game in 2005 and I doubt you would even consider playing a late 90's game. But if you do, you'll have a blast! That's because some games never get old and Metal Slug is one of them. It's an instant classic!
