To put it simply, MS2 is the highlight of an already wondrous series. Metal Slug is THE final word in arcade side scrolling shooters, and nothing released since then can come close to its grandeur. controls are simple, one buttons shoots, one jumps, and one throws a grenade. powerups are aplenty, and you'll need them... every missed machine gun or shotgun will result in an "aww!" and every downed enemy will cause a squeal in delight.

Enemies in this game are aplenty, from the nazi-esque soldiers which are a staple of the series, to zombie mutant thingies which cling to ceilings and explode if you don't kill them fast enough. the visual stylings are by far the most creative and lovingly done in the entire series. THESE are the greatest images you will ever see in sprite format, and some of the best animated as well. The bosses invariably occupy at LEAST half the screen, sometimes more.

The only real question is what format to play it on. I personally own the NeoGeo CD version, which is probably the most casual way to get into it. If you own a Neo Geo AES or MVS, then you already must know the grandeur of this game (and if you don't then you don't deserve that MVS, and I'll take it off your hands for ya!)

I'd love to see this game on the PSP or Xbox live arcade as soon as possible. direct port, too, no additional features are needed.
