VR missions, sometimes fun, sometimes boring

User Rating: 7 | Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions PS
VR missions (or Special Missions as it's called here in the EU) is a welcome 'expansion pack' to MGS even if no one demanded it. Remeber those little VR Missions you could play in the 'extras' section of MGS, well this game is basically that but ten times more. Let me say I didn't really enjoy the VR Missions in MGS nor did I bother with them so a game full of these missions isn't something i crave. No matter I got on with it and actually started to enjoy it. It has all the classic game mechanics that MGS had and challenges you to use them to full extent. It's good practice for MGS and is sometimes addictive. But it can also be so hard you loose the will to live. I got to 96.3% and then gave up because I just cant do no more! There are a few standout missions like the Ninja ones that makes me appreciate the game more. But only a little because most of the missions feel like a chore. You aren't saving the world so it all seems rather futile, putting the game in the 'for fans only' category. Once you've finished this game it's highly unlikely you will ever replay it again, I know I won't. But with good, if a bit basic, graphics and fantastic music MGS: VR is a game fans will probably enjoy a lot.
